The foundation for the Magnolia Boys State program’s success is the group of outstanding counselors who love the program and enjoy working with Mississippi’s future leaders.
As each delegate is assigned to a “city”, each city is assigned a counselor. Each counselor is a former citizen who participated and excelled while a citizen with Magnolia Boys State. They play the role as an advisor, guiding the delegates to lead and run their own city.
Each county (comprised of two cities) is assigned a County Adviser. The County Advisers are on the staff level and assist the programming portion of the week. The County Advisers will work with the cities in guiding the citizens, assist with various county meetings, and assist the counselors during the week with any potential problems.
